Beach, Packing, and last week in Oregon
This last week was our last week in Oregon. We started the week with Father's Day at Cannon beach. The weather was perfect and cloudy. We all ended up burnt. We had fun digging holes, playing with friends and we tried to make a fire but it burned out quickly with the wind and lack of kindling.
The rest of the week was spent stressfully packing our house up to move to Iowa. Penny had an adventurous week playing at friends houses while I was trying to pack things without her in the house. Packing with kids is like taking one step forward, two steps back. On Thursday Taylor went and got the trailer and we played a very intense game of tetras trying to fit as much of our life in a tiny trailer.
Unfortunately, we were only able to take about half of the furniture we wanted. The kids beds and a lot of furniture did not make it. Which is okay because then we get to find new ones when we find a place to settle.
It was hard to see Penny sad about her things being packed up to move. She had a hard time understanding what was happening. I had a hard time trying to explain to her what was going on and addressing her emotions while trying to be present and pack. Overall, I am anxious to move forward and get settled in Iowa. Living in limbo land is not my favorite. Remind me to never move again....
