Festival Of Colors
This weekend was the festival of colors! I had heard of this and seen pictures of this but never really understood it. After having experienced it, it definitely reminds me of Spanish festivals. Its definitely not child friendly. It is an Indian festival held at one of their temples just outside of Provo all day Saturday and Sunday. We got there Saturday afternoon in our white shirts and enjoyed people throwing colored chalk at us and listening to the music while we were "overcome with the vibrations of the earth". They had certain times throughout the day that was for the "throw-out" where everyone there is supposed to throw chalk into the air at the same time. At 4 it happened and as the chalk when into the air the sun disappeared and chalk filled our lungs, ears, and nose. You couldn't breath! Many people had to drop to the ground and get out to catch their breath again. It was a very interesting experience and one that I will always remember! It was a weekend filled with fun, laughter, and friendship with the best people!
